2027 UPC/UMC Standards Council Decisions

The IAPMO Standards Council met on November 13, 2025 to hear appeals to the proposed 2027 editions of the Uniform Plumbing Code and Uniform Mechanical Code.  All appeals were heard at IAPMO Group World Headquarters West located at 4755 E. Philadelphia Street, Ontario, California.  More information related to appeals can be found in the Regulations Governing Committee Projects at Section 1-6.  
 
Participants in IAPMO's codes and standards making process are advised that limited review of these decisions may be sought from the IAPMO Board of Directors. For the rules describing the available review  and the method for petitioning the Board of Directors for review, please consult Section 1-7 of the IAPMO Regulations Governing Committee Projects and the IAPMO Regulations Governing Petitions to the Board of Directors from Decisions of the Standards Council. As the UPC and UMC are American National Standard (ANS), any persons who have directly and materially affected interests by these decisions have the right to appeal to ANSI in accordance with ANSI procedures. 
 
Notice of the intent to file such petition must be submitted to Hugo Aguilar at hugo.aguilar@iapmo.org, by December 17, 2025. Written petitions to the Board, and the filing fee, must be received by January 5, 2026.
